Removal & Installation



Specific to:

Honda CR-V 2007-2008

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Note the anti-theft code and radio presets for the radio.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the sending unit electrical harness.
  8.  
  9. Using a pressure switch socket, deep-well socket, or wrench, loosen and remove the sending unit from the engine.

To install:

  1. Apply a liquid thread sealant to the sending unit and install the sending unit in the engine. Tighten the oil pressure sensor to 13 ft. lbs. (18 Nm).
  2.  
  3. Attach the electrical connector to the sending unit.
  4.  
  5. Check the engine oil level and top off as necessary.
  6.  
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.
  8.  
  9. Enter the anti-theft code and radio presets for the radio.
  10.  
  11. Start the engine, allow it to reach operating temperature, and check for leaks.
  12.  
  13. Check for proper sending unit operation.
  14.

Honda CR-V 2007-2008

The low oil pressure warning lamp will illuminate anytime the ignition switch is turned to the ON position without the engine running. When the engine is running, the light also illuminates if the engine oil pressure drops below a safe oil pressure level.

  1. If the oil pressure light has malfunctioned, perform the following:
    1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
    2.  
    3. If the lamp does not light, check for a broken or disconnected wire around the engine and oil pressure sending unit switch.
    4.
