Diagnosis & Testing
Motor

Specific to:

Honda CR-V 2007-2008

If the moonroof works OK manually, but will not work in AUTO, or reverses frequently (obstacle detection), do the moonroof calibration before proceeding with the input test diagnosis. Refer to Power Moonroof, Motor, moonroof control unit reset.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  4.
  5. Remove the headliner to access the moonroof motor. For additional information, refer to the section, Power Moonroof, Motor, removal & installation.
  6.
  7. Disconnect the 10P connector (A) from the moonroof control unit (B).

  8.
  9. Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact.
    1. If the terminals are bent, loose, or corroded, repair them as necessary, and recheck the system.
    2.
    3. If the terminals look OK, go to step 6.
    4.

  10.
  11. Reconnect the connector to the control unit, and do the following input tests at the listed connector.
    1. If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
    2.
    3. If all the input tests prove OK, go to step 7.

    4.

  12.
  13. Check the PCM DTC-s. If there is no DTC set, jump the SCS line with the HDS, then disconnect the PCM connector A (44P) and the moonroof control unit/motor 10P connector.
  14.
  15. Do the following input tests at each connector.
    1. If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
    2.
    3. If all the input tests prove OK, the control unit must be faulty; replace the moonroof control unit/motor.
