Removal & Installation



Special tools required:



Universal eyelet 07AAK-SNAA120
 
Front subframe adapter VSB02C000016
 
Engine support hanger, A and Reds AAR-T-12566
 

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Matchmark the stabilizer bar for proper reinstallation.
  4.  
  5. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  6.  
  7. Remove the front wheels.
  8.  
  9. Disconnect both stabilizer control links from the stabilizer bar.
  10.  
  11. Remove the cowl cover.
  12.  
  13. Attach the universal eyelet to the cylinder head.
  14.  
  15. Install the engine support hanger (AAR-T-12566) to the vehicle and attach the hook to the universal eyelet.

  17. Attach the front subframe adapter (A) to the front subframe (B) by hanging the hook of the special tool over the front of the subframe, then tighten the special tool screw.

  19. Raise the jack (C) and line up the slots in the arms with the bolt holes on the corner of the jack base, then securely attach them with bolts.

  21. Remove both mid-bracket bolts.

  23. Loosen the front subframe front mounting bolts (A) on the right and left of the vehicle so they are about 1 3 / 16 inches (30mm) from the mounting surface.

  25. Support the front subframe securely by raising the special tool, then loosen the 14mm special bolts (A) so they are about 1 3 / 16 inches (30mm) from the mounting surface.

  27. Lower the jack supporting the front subframe with the special tool slowly until the front subframe has dropped about 1 3 / 16 inches (30mm).

  29. Remove the flange bolts (A) and bushing holders (B), then remove the bushings (C).

  31. Remove the stabilizer bar from the vehicle.

To install:

  1. Install the stabilizer bar into position aligning the paint marks (D) on the stabilizer bar with the sides of the bushings.
    NOTE
    Ensure the right and left direction of the stabilizer bar is correct before installation. Make sure the fore and aft direction of the bushings is correct.

  3. Install the bushings (C), bushing holders (B), and the flange bolts (A). Tighten the bolts to 16 ft. lbs. (22 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Raise the jack supporting the front subframe with the special tool slowly until the front subframe makes contact with the body frame.
  6.  
  7. Installation continues in the reverse of the removal procedure.
  8.  
  9. Tighten the bolts to the specified torque:
    1. Bolts 14 x 1.5mm: 76 ft. lbs. (103 Nm).
    2.  
    3. Bolts 12 x 1.25mm: 47 ft. lbs. (64 Nm).
    4.

  11. Check the front wheel alignment and make adjustments as necessary.
