  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Check the No. 10 METER (7.5 Amp) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box before testing.
  4.  
  5. Check for any body electrical system DTC-s with the Honda Diagnostics System (HDS).
    1. If no problem is found, go to step 4.
    2.  
    3. If DTC B1175 or B1176 is indicated, troubleshoot existing DTC-s first.

  7. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  8.  
  9. Fold the left side rear seat forward and pull back the carpet to expose the access panel.
  10.  
  11. Remove the access panel from the floor.
  12.  
  13. Disconnect the fuel tank unit 4P connector.
  14.  
  15. Measure the voltage between the fuel tank unit 4P connector terminals No. 1 and No. 3 with the ignition switch to ON (II). There should be battery voltage.
    1. If the voltage is OK, go to step 9.
    2.  
    3. If the voltage is not as specified, check for: a short in the LT BLU wire to ground or an open in the LT BLU or ORN wire.

  17. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  18.  
  19. Remove the fuel tank unit from the fuel tank.
  20.  
  21. Measure the resistance between the fuel tank unit 4P connector terminals No. 1 and No. 3 with the float at different positions.
    1. The resistance should match the readings in the following table.
    2.  
    3. If you do not get the following readings, replace the fuel gauge sending unit.
