Charging the System

CAUTION
Before beginning this procedure, refer to the Precautions at the beginning of this section. Only a MVAC-trained, EPA-certified, automotive technician should service the A/C system or its components. Failure to follow the warnings and cautions could result in possible personal injury or death.

  1. Connect an R-134a refrigerant recover/recycling/charging station to the high-pressure service port and the low-pressure service port, following the equipment manufacturer-s instructions.

  3. Add the same amount of new refrigerant oil to the system that was removed during recovery. Use only KEIHIN SP-10 refrigerant oil.
  4.  
  5. Charge the system with the specified amount of R-134a refrigerant. Do not overcharge the system; the compressor may be damaged.
  6.  
  7. Check for refrigerant leaks. Refer to Leak Testing.
