Bleeding The Hydraulic System



  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Fill the clutch cylinder reservoir with new hydraulic fluid.
  4.  
  5. Stroke the clutch pedal from the up stop to the down stop position at least 15 times.
  6.  
  7. With the pedal in the down stop position, open the bleeder valve at the slave cylinder to release trapped air.
  8.  
  9. Close the bleeder valve and slowly return the clutch pedal to the up stop position.
  10.  
  11. Open the bleeder valve and slowly depress the clutch pedal from the up stop position to the down stop position until fluid escapes from the bleeder valve.
  12.  
  13. Close the bleeder valve and slowly return the clutch pedal to the up stop position.
  14.  
  15. Depress the clutch pedal from the up stop to the down stop position.
  16.  
  17. Open the bleeder valve and allow fluid with air bubbles to escape.
  18.  
  19. Close the bleeder valve.
  20.  
  21. Repeat until fluid without air bubbles escapes from the bleeder valve.
