Removal & Installation

W-Body vehicles may be equipped with a fixed antenna, a power antenna or an antenna built into the rear window glass, depending on vehicle and model.

A fixed antenna mast can be removed by simply unscrewing from its base. On vehicles equipped with a rear window antenna, if a rear window antenna grid line is broken, the repair procedure is the same as the procedure for repairing a rear window defogger grid line. If a fixed antenna base is to be replaced, use the following procedure. Please note that because of the design of the antenna bezel and nut, a special tool, J 38536 Antenna Bezel Socket, is recommended. Use care if using substitute tools.
