  20.
  21. Connect the 3-amp fused jumper wire between the lock signal circuit and the ground circuit of the door lock switch harness connector.
  22.
  23. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF .
  24.
  25. With the scan tool, observe the appropriate Door Lock Switch parameter.
  26.
  27. If the parameter changed state to Lock, Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the appropriate door lock switch.
  28.
  29. If know problem was found with connections at the door lock switch suspect a faulty switch.
    NOTE
If a power door lock switch signal circuit is found to be shorted to battery voltage, the lock switch may need to be replaced.

  30.

The following procedure tests for a short to voltage in a circuit:

Set the rotary dial of the DMM to the V (DC) position.

Connect the positive lead of the DMM to one end of the circuit to be tested.

Connect the negative lead of the DMM to a good ground.

Turn ON the ignition and operate all accessories.

If the voltage measured is greater than 1 volt, there is a short to voltage in the circuit.
