Removal & Installation



  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect battery negative cable from battery and properly isolate to prevent accidental reconnection.
  4.  
  5. Recover the air conditioning system.
  6.  
  7. Drain the cooling system.
  8.  
  9. Remove or disconnect the following:

    Radiator inlet hose
     
    Radiator outlet hose
     
    Evaporator tube bolt
     
    Evaporator tube from the condenser
     
    Upper transmission oil cooler line from the radiator
     
    Fan shroud
     

  10.  
  11. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.

    Lower transmission oil cooler line from the radiator
     
    Coolant recovery reservoir hose from the radiator
     
    Condenser inlet line from the condenser
     
    Radiator and the condenser assembly from the vehicle
     
    Condenser from the radiator

To install:

  1. Install or connect the following:

    Condenser to the radiator
     
    Radiator and the condenser assembly to the vehicle
     
    Fan shroud
     
    Coolant recovery reservoir hose to the radiator
     
    Condenser tube to the condenser
     
    A/C condenser tube nut and tighten to 12 ft. lbs. (16 Nm)
     
    Lower transmission oil cooler line to the radiator and tighten the line to 20 ft. lbs. (27 Nm)
     
    Upper transmission oil cooler line to the radiator and tighten the line to 20 ft. lbs. (27 Nm)
     
    Radiator outlet hose
     
    Radiator inlet hose
     

  2.  
  3. Fill cooling system.
  4.  
  5. Recharge the air conditioning system.
  6.  
  7. Reconnect negative battery cable.
  8.
