Removal & Installation



  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect battery negative cable from battery and properly isolate to prevent accidental reconnection.
  4.  
  5. Remove the right instrument panel (IP) insulator.
  6.  
  7. Remove the temperature control cable bolt.
  8.  
  9. Disconnect the temperature control cable from the HVAC module assembly.
  10.  
  11. Remove the accessory trim plate.
  12.  
  13. Remove the HVAC control assembly screws.
  14.  
  15. Remove the HVAC control assembly from the IP to access the temperature control cable connection.
    NOTE
    When releasing the control cable clips, use a small screwdriver to remove the cable from the control.

  17. Remove the temperature control cable from the HVAC control assembly.
  18.  

To install:

  1. Install the temperature control cable to the HVAC control assembly.
  2.  
  3. Install the HVAC control assembly to the IP.
  4.  
  5. Install the HVAC control assembly screws and tighten to 19 inch lbs. (2.2 Nm)
  6.  
  7. Connect the temperature control cable to the HVAC module assembly.
  8.  
  9. Use the following steps in order to install the temperature control cable to the control:

    Install the temperature control cable to the lever arm.
     
    Align the shaft with the temperature control cable shaft.
     
    Press the temperature control cable clips into the slot in the control.
     
    Ensure that the temperature control cable clips are in place.
     
    Install the temperature control cable screw and tighten to 17 inch lbs. (1.9 Nm)

  11. Install the accessory trim plate.
  12.  
  13. Reconnect negative battery cable.
  14.
