The ECU controls all engine computer related functions.

Removal & Installation




CAUTION
Before inspecting the high-voltage system or disconnecting the low voltage connector of the inverter with converter assembly, take safety precautions, such as wearing insulated gloves and removing the service plug grip to prevent electrical shocks. Make sure to turn the power switch off before removing the service plug grip. After removing the service plug grip, put it in your pocket to prevent other technicians from accidentally reconnecting it while you are working on the high-voltage system.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Remove the luggage trim service hole cover.
  6.  
  7. Remove the service plug grip.
  8.  
  9. Remove the right and left wiper arm assembly.
  10.  
  11. Remove the right and left fender cowl side seal.
  12.  
  13. Remove the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly.
  14.  
  15. Remove the wiper motor and link assembly.
  16.  
  17. Remove the 2 bolts and separate the brake master cylinder reservoir sub-assembly.
  18.  
  19. Remove the cowl top outer panel sub-assembly.

  21. Remove the hybrid vehicle ECU as follows:
    NOTE
    After disconnecting the connectors, make sure that dirt, water and other foreign matter do not contact the connecting parts of the connectors.



    Remove the 3 nuts.
     
    Disconnect the 2 connectors and remove the hybrid vehicle control ECU.
     
    Raise the 2 levers while pushing the locks on the 2 levers, and disconnect the 2 connectors.

To install:

  1. Connect the 2 connectors and lower the 2 levers.
  2.  
  3. Install the hybrid vehicle control ECU with the 3 nuts. Tighten the nuts to 49 inc. lbs. (5.5 Nm)
  4.  
  5. Install the cowl top outer panel sub-assembly.
  6.  
  7. Install the 2 bolts and join the brake master cylinder reservoir sub-assembly.
  8.  
  9. Install the wiper motor and link assembly.
  10.  
  11. Install the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly.
  12.  
  13. Install the right and left fender cowl side seal.
  14.  
  15. Install the right and left wiper arm assembly.
  16.  
  17. Install the service plug grip.
  18.  
  19. Install the luggage trim service hole cover.
  20.  
  21. Connect the negative battery cable.
  22.
