Removal & Installation




NOTE
Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.


NOTE
The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Remove the rear wheel.
  4.  
  5. Separate the rear disc brake caliper assembly, as follows:
    1. Remove the bolt and separate the flexible hose from the shock absorber.
    2.  
    3. Remove the 2 bolts and separate the rear disc brake caliper assembly.
    4.

  7. Remove the rear disc.
  8.  
  9. Disconnect the skid control sensor connector.
  10.  
  11. Remove the 4 bolts and the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.

  13. Install the hub and bearing assembly with the 4 bolts and tighten to 59 ft. lbs. (80 Nm).

  15. Connect the skid control sensor connector. Do not twist the sensor wire.
  16.  
  17. Inspect rear axle hub bearing looseness.
  18.  
  19. Inspect rear axle hub runout.
  20.  
  21. Install the rear disc.
  22.  
  23. Install the rear disc brake caliper assembly, as follows:
    1. Install the rear disc brake caliper with the 2 bolts and tighten to 46 ft. lbs. (62 Nm).
    2.  
    3. Install the flexible hose with the bolt and tighten to 14 ft. lbs. (19 Nm).

  25. Install the rear wheel.
  26.  
  27. Inspect and adjust the rear wheel alignment.

  29. Check ABS speed sensor signal.
