Driver Side-With Jam Protection

Specific to:

Toyota Camry 2007-2008

  1. Apply battery voltage to the motor connector according to the following:
    NOTE
    Do not apply battery voltage to any terminals except terminals 1, 2, 4, 7 and 10.

    1. Manual operation:

      Battery positive (+) - Terminal 2 (B), Battery negative (-) - Terminal 1 (E), 7 (DWN1) with motor gear rotating counterclockwise
       
      Battery positive (+) - Terminal 2 (B), Battery negative (-) - Terminal 1 (E), 10 (UP1) with motor gear rotating clockwise
       

    2.  
    3. Auto operation:

      Battery positive (+) - Terminal 2 (B), Battery negative (-) - Terminal 1 (E), 4 (AUTO), 7 (DWN1) with motor gear rotating counterclockwise
       
      Battery positive (+) - Terminal 2 (B), Battery negative (-) - Terminal 1 (E), 4 (AUTO) 10 (UP1) with motor gear rotating clockwise

  3. Check the PTC operation inside the regulator motor.
    NOTE
    The work must be performed with the power window regulator and door glass installed in the vehicle.

    1. Disconnect the driver side power window regulator motor connector.
    2.  
    3. Connect the ammeter's positive (+) lead to terminal 2 (U) of the wire harness side connector and the negative (-) lead to the battery's negative terminal.
    4.  
    5. Connect the battery's positive (+) lead to terminal 1 (D) of the wire harness side connector, and raise the window to the fully closed position.
    6.  
    7. Continue to apply voltage, and check that the current changes to less than 1 A within 4 to 90 seconds.
    8.  
    9. Disconnect the leads from the terminals.
    10.  
    11. Approximately 60 seconds later, connect the battery's positive (+) lead to terminal 2 (U) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1 (D). Check that the window begins to descend.
    12.  

  4.  
  5. If the result is not as specified, replace the motor assembly.
  6.  

Specific to:

Toyota Camry 2009-2010

  1. Apply battery voltage to the motor connector according to the following:
    NOTE
    Do not apply battery voltage to any terminals except terminals 1, 2, 4, 7 and 10.

    1. Manual operation:

Driver Side-Without Jam Protection

Specific to:

Toyota Camry 2007-2008

  1. Apply battery voltage to the motor connector according to the following:
    NOTE
    Do not apply battery voltage to any terminals except terminals 1 and 2.

    1. Condition: Battery positive (+) - Terminal 1, Battery negative (-) - Terminal 2 with motor gear rotating clockwise.
    2.  
    3. Condition: Battery positive (+) - Terminal 2, Battery negative (-) - Terminal 1 with motor gear rotating counterclockwise.

  1. Apply battery voltage to the motor connector according to the following:
    NOTE
    Do not apply battery voltage to any terminals except terminals 1 and 2.

    1. Condition: Battery positive (+) - Terminal 1, Battery negative (-) - Terminal 2 with motor gear rotating clockwise.

    3. Condition: Battery positive (+) - Terminal 2, Battery negative (-) - Terminal 1 with motor gear rotating counterclockwise.

  3. Check the PTC operation inside the regulator motor.
    NOTE

    1. Disconnect the driver side power window regulator motor connector.

Rear Left Side

Specific to:

Toyota Camry 2007-2008

  1. Apply battery voltage to the motor connector according to the following:
    NOTE
    Do not apply battery voltage to any terminals except terminals 1 and 2.

    1. Condition: Battery positive (+) - Terminal 1, Battery negative (-) - Terminal 2 with motor gear rotating clockwise.
    2.  
    3. Condition: Battery positive (+) - Terminal 2, Battery negative (-) - Terminal 1 with motor gear rotating counterclockwise.
    4.

  3. Check the PTC operation inside the regulator motor.
    NOTE

  1. Measure the resistance when the switch is operated according to the following value(s):
    1. Connector: 8 (UP) - 1 (E) - 4 (AUTO) with switch at auto UP at below 1 ohm.

    3. Connector: 5 (DN) - 6 (B) with switch at auto UP at below 1 ohm.
    4.  
    5. Connector: 8 (UP) - 1 (E) with switch at manual UP at below 1 ohm.
    6.  
    7. Connector: 5 (DN) - 6 (B) with switch at manual UP at below 1 ohm.
    8.  
    9. Connector: 8 (UP) - 5 (DN) - 6 (B) with switch at OFF at below 1 ohm.
    10.  
    11. Connector: 5 (DN) - 1 (E) with switch at manual DOWN at below 1 ohm.
    12.  
    13. Connector: 8 (UP) - 6 (B) with switch at manual DOWN at below 1 ohm.
    14.  
    15. Connector: 4 (AUTO) - 5 (DN) - 1 (E) with switch at auto DOWN at below 1 ohm.

    7. Connector: 1 (E) - 12 (RLU) with switch at Lock/Unlock with UNLOCK below 1 ohm and LOCK at 10 kilo ohms or higher.
    8.  
    9. Connector: 1 (E) - 13 (RLD) with switch at Lock/Unlock with UNLOCK below 1 ohm and LOCK at 10 kilo ohms or higher.
    10.  
    11. Connector: 1 (E) - 15 (PD) with switch at Lock/Unlock with UNLOCK below 1 ohm and LOCK at 10 kilo ohms or higher.
    12.  
    13. Connector: 1 (E) - 16 (PU) with switch at Lock/Unlock with UNLOCK below 1 ohm and LOCK at 10 kilo ohms or higher.

    9. Connector: 1 (E) - 13 (RLD) with switch at Lock/Unlock with UNLOCK below 1 ohm and LOCK at 10 kilo ohms or higher.
    10.  
    11. Connector: 1 (E) - 15 (PD) with switch at Lock/Unlock with UNLOCK below 1 ohm and LOCK at 10 kilo ohms or higher.

    3. Connector: 3 (B) - 4 (U) with switch at UP at below 1 ohm.
    4.  
    5. Connector: 1 (D) - 2 (SD) with switch at OFF at below 1 ohm.
    6.  
    7. Connector: 4 (U) - 5 (SU) with switch at OFF at below 1 ohm.
    8.  
    9. Connector: 4 (U) - 5 (SU) with switch at DOWN at below 1 ohm.
    10.  
    11. Connector: 1 (D) - 3 (B) with switch at DOWN at below 1 ohm.
    12.  

  4.  
  5. If the result is not as specified, replace the switch, harness or connector as necessary.
  6.  

Specific to:

Toyota Camry 2009-2010

  1. Remove the power window switch.

  3. Measure the resistance when the switch is operated according to the value(s):
    1. Connector: 1 (D) - 2 (SD) with switch at UP at below 1 ohm.

    3. Connector: 3 (B) - 4 (U) with switch at UP at below 1 ohm.

    5. Connector: 1 (D) - 2 (SD) with switch at OFF at below 1 ohm.
    6.  
    7. Connector: 4 (U) - 5 (SU) with switch at OFF at below 1 ohm.
    8.  
    9. Connector: 4 (U) - 5 (SU) with switch at DOWN at below 1 ohm.
    10.  
    11. Connector: 1 (D) - 3 (B) with switch at DOWN at below 1 ohm.
    12.  

  4.  
  5. If the result is not as specified, replace the switch, harness or connector as necessary.

Rear Window

  3. Measure the resistance when the switch is operated according to the value(s):
    1. Connector: 1 (D) - 2 (SD) with switch at UP at below 1 ohm.

    5. Connector: 1 (D) - 2 (SD) with switch at OFF at below 1 ohm.

  1. Remove the power window switch.
  2.  
  3. Measure the resistance when the switch is operated according to the value(s):

Removal & Installation
Motor & Regulator

Specific to:

Toyota Camry 2007-2008

  1. Using a screwdriver with the tip taped, disengage the clip and claw, and remove the front door lower frame bracket garnish.
  2.  
  3. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 3 claws and remove the front door inside handle bezel plug.
  4.  
  5. Using a screwdriver with the tip wrapped with protective tape, disengage the 6 claws and remove the assist grip cover.
  6.  
  7. Using a screwdriver with the tip wrapped with protective tape, disengage the claw and remove the courtesy light assembly.
  8.  
  9. Remove front door trim board sub-assembly, as follows:
    1. Remove the 3 screws and clip.
    2.  
    3. Using a clip remover, disengage the 9 clips.
    4.  
    5. Pull upwards the front door trim board.
    6.  
    7. Disengage the reference bosses from the front door panel.
    8.  
    9. Raise the front door trim board to disengage the 4 claws and remove the front door trim board together with the front door inner glass weatherstrip.
    10.  
    11. Disengage the 2 claws and disconnect the front door inside handle sub-assembly.
    12.

  11. Disconnect the power window regulator master switch assembly connector.
  12.  
  13. Remove the 3 screws and the power window regulator master switch assembly.
  14.  
  15. For drivers side, disengage the clamp and remove the 2 screws and front door wire.
  16.  
  17. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 4 clips and remove the front door inner glass weatherstrip from the front door trim board.
  18.  
  19. Remove front armrest base panel upper, as follows:
    1. Remove the 7 screws.
    2.  
    3. Disengage the 4 claws and remove the front armrest base panel upper.
    4.  

  20.  
  21. Disconnect the front door lock remote control cable and front door inside locking cable and remove the front door inside handle sub-assembly.
  22.  
  23. Remove front no. 1 speaker assembly.
  24.  
  25. Remove outer rear view mirror assembly.
    NOTE
    Remove the remaining butyl tape on the door side

  27. Disconnect the connector and each clamp, and remove the front door service hole cover.
  28.  
  29. Remove front door glass sub-assembly, as follows:
    1. Connect the front power window regulator motor assembly connector.
    2.  
    3. Connect the power window regulator master switch assembly and move the front door glass sub-assembly so that the door glass bolts can be seen.
      NOTE
      After the bolts are removed, the door glass may fall, causing damage.

    4.  
    5. Remove the 2 bolts.
      NOTE
      Do not damage the door glass.

    6.  
    7. Remove the front door glass sub-assembly.
    8.  
    9. Disconnect the power window regulator master switch assembly and front power window regulator motor assembly connector.
    10.

  31. Remove front door window regulator sub-assembly, as follows:
    NOTE
    Do not remove the temporary bolt. If the temporary bolt is removed, the front door window regulator may fall, causing damage.

    1. Loosen the temporary bolt.
    2.  
    3. Remove the 5 bolts.
    4.  
    5. Remove the front door window regulator sub-assembly and the power window regulator motor assembly front as a unit.
    6.  
    7. Remove the temporary bolt from the front door window regulator sub-assembly.
    8.

  33. Using a Torx® driver (T25), remove the 3 screws and the front power window regulator motor assembly.

NOTE
The regulator arm must be below the intermediate position when installing the power window regulator motor.


NOTE
A new front window regulator adopts a self-tapping method. The installation position of the regulator will be threaded when the self-tapping screw is inserted.

  1. Using a Torx® wrench (T25), install the front power window regulator motor assembly with the 3 Torx® screws and tighten to 49 inch lbs. (5.5 Nm).
  2.  
  3. Apply MP grease to the sliding parts of the front door window regulator sub-assembly.
  4.  
  5. Install the temporary bolt to the front door window regulator sub-assembly.
  6.  
  7. Temporarily install the window regulator.
  8.  
  9. Tighten the 6 bolts in the sequence to install the front window regulator. Tighten to 71 inch lbs. (8 Nm).

  11. Insert the front door glass sub-assembly into the front door panel from, right to left, along the front door glass run.
  12.  
  13. Install the front door glass sub-assembly with the 2 bolts and tighten to 49 inch lbs. (6 Nm).

  15. Apply butyl tape to the front door panel. Pass the front door lock remote control cable and rear door inside locking cable through a new front door service hole cover.
    NOTE
    Securely install the front door service hole cover avoiding wrinkles and air bubbles.

  17. Install the new service hole cover.
  18.  
  19. Connect each connector and each clamp.
  20.  
  21. To complete installation, reverse remaining removal procedure.

Specific to:

Toyota Camry 2009-2010

  1. Using a screwdriver with the tip taped, disengage the clip and claw, and remove the front door lower frame bracket garnish.
