Mode Control Cable



  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Remove the radio.
  4.  
  5. Remove the mounting screws from the HVAC control assembly.
  6.  
  7. Remove the mode cable from the retaining clip and remove the mode cable.
  8.  
  9. Remove the mode cable from the mode control cam.
  10.  
  11. Remove the mode cable from the HVAC control assembly.
  12.  
  13. Remove the mode control cable.
  14.  

To install:

  1. Install the mode cable. Make certain that the cable is properly seated in the notches in the HVAC control assembly.
  2.  
  3. Install the mode cable to the HVAC control assembly.
  4.  
  5. Install the mode cable to the retaining clip.
    NOTE
    Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install the mounting screws to the HVAC control assembly. Tighten the screws to 17 inch lbs. (1.9 Nm).
  8.  
  9. Install the radio.
  10.  
  11. Install the mode cable to the mode control cam.
  12.  
  13. Install the mode cable to the retaining clip.
  14.  
  15. Install the radio.
  16.  
  17. Install the HVAC control assembly.
  18.  

Temperature Control Cable



  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Remove the accessory trim plate.
  4.  
  5. Remove the mounting screws from the HVAC control assembly.
  6.  
  7. Remove the temperature cable (4) from the retaining clip and remove the temperature cable.
  8.  
  9. Remove the temperature cable (4) from the temperature control cam (5).
  10.  
  11. Fully open the I/P storage compartment.
  12.  
  13. Remove the temperature control cable from the retaining clip.
  14.  
  15. Remove the temperature control cable (9) from the temperature actuator cam (10).
  16.  
  17. Remove the temperature control cable.
  18.  

To install:

  1. Install the temperature cable (4).
  2.  
  3. Install the temperature control cable (9) to the temperature actuator cam (10).
  4.  
  5. Install the temperature cable to the retaining clip.
  6.  
  7. Install the temperature cable (4) to the temperature control cam (5).
  8.  
  9. Install the temperature cable (4) to the retaining clip.
