    Possible Causes:



    DRB or scan tool displays a "write" failure occurred
     
    DRB or scan tool displays "write" refused a second time
     
    DRB or scan tool displays SRI mileage invalid (compare the SRI mileage reading to the reading on the odometer)
     
    PCM has failed

    PCM Failure (EMR/SRI Mileage Not Stored)

    Possible Causes:



    Clear the trouble codes and retest for the same trouble code. If DTC P1697 resets, replace the PCM and then reprogram it.

    CCD data Bus circuit is open, shorted to ground or to power
     
    TCM or the PCM has failed

    Engine Cooling Fan System is not operating properly

    Possible Causes:



    Fused Ignition power circuit is open between TCM and PCM

    Generator power source circuit to relay control circuit is open

    Possible Causes:



    2/4 or L/R Solenoid control circuit is open

    TCM has failed

    A/T Solenoid Switch Latched In TCC Position

    Possible Causes:



    Related DTC P0841 may be present.
     
    Intermittent wiring or connector problems
     
    Extremely low battery (system) voltage
     
    L/R Solenoid pressure switch circuit is open or switch has failed
     
    Transmission solenoid pack is damaged or has failed
     
    Transmission control relay circuit is shorted to L/R solenoid
     
    Valve body engine idle too high
     
    Valve body solenoid switch stuck in "lockup" position
     
    PCM has failed

    A/T Solenoid Switch Latched In Low/Reverse Position

    Possible Causes:



    Related DTC P0841 may be present.
     
    Intermittent wiring or connector problems
     
    L/R pressure switch sense circuit is open, shorted to ground or to voltage
     
    Extremely low battery (system) voltage
     
    Transmission pan has debris caused by valve body damage
     
    Transmission internal problems, SSV sticking, or valve body damage
     
    PCM has failed

    2/4 line pressure is too high
     
    2/4 pressure switch is open or shorted to ground
     
    Solenoid pack is damaged or has failed
     
    Transmission has internal problems or has failed
     
    Valve body torque is out of specification

    A/T Additional L/R Pressure Switch Circuit Malfunction

    Possible Causes:



    L/R pressure switch circuit open, shorted to ground or to power
     
    L/R solenoid switch valve is stuck in "lockup" position

    Valve body bolt torque is out of specification

    P/N switch ground circuit is open (at the switch mounting point)
     
    P/N switch is stuck in P/N position, or stuck in Drive position
     
    P/N switch is damaged or has failed
     
    PCM has failed

    Ignition Coil No. 1 Secondary Circuit Insufficient Ionization

    Possible Causes:



    Intermittent condition
     
    Cylinder No. 1 spark plug or wire is damaged or it has failed
     
    Ignition Coil No. 1 is damaged or it has failed
     
    Ignition coil control circuit is open or shorted to ground
     
    ASD relay output circuit problems
     
    PCM has failed
