Possible Causes:



A theft attempt may have occurred.

Data Bus circuit from MIC to the PCM is damaged or it is open
 
Instrument Cluster is damaged or has failed

Data Bus circuit from SKIM to PCM is damaged or it is open

Possible Causes:



DRB or scan tool displays a "write" failure occurred

PCM has failed

Possible Causes:



Clear the trouble codes and retest for the same trouble code. If DTC P1697 resets, replace the PCM and then reprogram it.
