Removal & Installation




NOTE
This procedure requires the use of a torque angle meter, special tool J36660A or equivalent.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Raise and support the vehicle.
  4.  
  5. Remove the engine front crossmember frame.
  6.  
  7. Remove the stabilizer shaft insulator bolts.
  8.  
  9. Remove the stabilizer shaft.
  10.  
  11. Remove the insulators from the stabilizer shaft.

To install:

  1. Install the insulators to the stabilizer shaft.
  2.  
  3. Install the stabilizer shaft.
    NOTE
    Use new stabilizer shaft insulator bolts.

  4.  
  5. Install the stabilizer shaft insulator bolts.
  6.  
  7. Tighten using J36660A or equivalent torque angle meter to 15 ft. lbs. (20 Nm) and turn additional 37 degrees.
  8.  
  9. Install the engine front crossmember frame.
  10.  
  11. Lower the vehicle.
  12.

Removal & Installation
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Raise and support the vehicle.
  4.  
  5. Remove the front tire and wheel.
  6.  
  7. Remove the stabilizer shaft link nut from the stabilizer shaft and from the strut assembly.
  8.  
  9. Remove the stabilizer shaft link.

To install:

  1. Install the stabilizer link to the stabilizer shaft and to the strut assembly.
  2.  
  3. Install the stabilizer shaft link nuts and tighten to 48 ft. lbs. (65 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Install the front tire and wheel.
  6.  
  7. Lower the vehicle.
