The wheel bearings are not serviceable.
Removal & Installation
Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
Remove or disconnect the following:
Brake pad wear indicator wire from the strut bracket
Brake hose from the strut bracket
Caliper bolts from the steering knuckle
Brake caliper. The brake system should remain closed.
Brake rotor and setscrew
Dust cap from the hub
Hub with the bearing
Bearing by pressing it from the hub
Install or connect the following:
Bearing onto the spindle and press the outer bearing ring into the hub
Hub nut. Torque the nut to 236 ft. lbs. (320 Nm).
Dust cap to the hub
Brake rotor and setscrew. Torque the screw to 35 inch lbs. (4 Nm).
Brake caliper to the steering knuckle after cleaning the bolt holes with an M12 x 1.5 tap and coating the new bolts with a thread locking compound. Torque the bolts to 70 ft. lbs. (95 Nm), plus a 37 degree turn.
Brake hose to the strut bracket with a retaining clip
Brake pad wear indicator wire to the strut
Road test the vehicle.
Check and/or adjust the front end alignment.
