Fusible links are sections of wire, with special insulation, designed to melt under electrical overload. Replacements are simply spliced into the wire in most cases. Circuits protected by fusible links, 1969-74, are: engine wiring, battery charging, alternator, and headlights. For 1975-76, the circuits are: high beam indicator, horn, ignition, and starter solenoid. For 1977-80 the circuits protected by fusible links are the ignition, horn, headlight high beam and the air conditioner blower (high position).
