REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Remove the air cleaner.
Disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose at the rocker arm covers.
Disconnect the wiring from the rocker arm clips.
Remove the carburetor heat stove pipe, on models so equipped.
If the vehicle is equipped with A/C, remove the compressor rear brace.
Do not disconnect any of the refrigerant lines.
Remove the rocker arm attaching bolts and remove the cover. If the cover is difficult to remove, gently tap the front of the cover rearward with your hand or a rubber mallet. If this still does not work, CAREFULLY pry the cover off. Be very careful not to distort the sealing surface or you'll be buying a new cover.
On installation, apply a
inch bead of sealer to the mating surface after removing all the old loose sealer.
Reverse to install.
