REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



1969-72 Models
  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the lock cylinder by positioning the switch in "ACC" position and inserting a thin piece of wire in the small hole in the cylinder face. Push in on the wire and turn the key counterclockwise until the lock cylinder can be removed.
  4.  
  5. Remove the metal ignition switch nut.
  6.  
  7. Remove the ignition switch from under the dash and remove the wiring connector.
  8.  
  9. To remove the "theft-resistant" connector, the switch must be removed from under the dash. Use a small screwdriver, unsnap the locking tangs on the connector, and unplug the connector.
  10.  

To install:

  1. Snap the connector into place on a new switch.
  2.  
  3. Install the switch in the dash and install the metal ignition switch nut.
  4.  
  5. Install the lock cylinder.
  6.  
  7. Connect the battery cable.
  8.  
  9. Test the operation of the switch.
  10.
