The proper grease to be used is water-resistant EP chassis lubricant. A hand grease gun is satisfactory.
Ball joints must not be lubricated at temperatures below 10°F (-12°C).
- There are two steering linkage grease fittings, all reached from under the car. A grease gun with a flexible extension will allow you to reach all the fittings. Wipe off the fittings, install the gun, and pump in grease until it leaks out around the rubber seals. Wipe off the excess and the grease fitting.
- There is a grease fitting above both upper ball joints and below both lower ball joints, four in all. Grease these as in Step 1.
- Rub a little grease on the steering stops riveted to the lower control arms. Rub a little grease on the parking brake cable guides under the rear of the car.
