  1. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  2.  
  3. Matchmark the position of the jam nut for installation purposes.
  4.  
  5. Loosen the jam nut.
  6.  
  7. Use a pair of needle-nose pliers to remove the cotter pin. Discard the pin and replace with a new one during installation.
  8.  
  9. Remove the hex slotted nut.
  10.  
  11. Use tool J 24319-01, BT-7101, or equivalent puller to separate the tie rod end from the steering knuckle.
  12.  
  13. Remove the tie rod end.
  14.  

To install:

  1. Install all parts but do not tighten the jam nut.
  2.  
  3. Make the toe-in adjustment by turning the inner tie rod.
  4.  
  5. Tighten the jam nut to 50 ft. lbs.
  6.  
  7. Carefully lower the vehicle.
  8.
