Rocker arm studs that have damaged threads or which are loose in the cylinder heads may be replaced with new studs. Studs are available in oversizes, or the bores may be tapped and replacement studs used, on the V6 engine. The standard studs in the V6 are a press fit. The studs in the four cylinder engine are threaded into the head. Old studs can be removed with a deep socket. New studs should be threaded in and tightened to 75 ft. lbs. (100 Nm.).
