REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



Do not operate the radio with the speaker leads disconnected. Operating the radio without an electrical load will damage the output transistors.

  1. Disconnect the negative cable at the battery.
  2.  
  3. Remove the radio knobs (pull off), the radio shaft nuts, and the clock knob if your Citation has one.
  4.  
  5. Remove the instrument cluster trim bezel attaching screws and pull the bezel rearward.
  6.  
  7. Remove the headlamp switch and knob.
  8.  
  9. Disconnect the wiring and remove the bezel.
  10.  
  11. Remove the two screws attaching the radio bracket to the instrument panel.
  12.  
  13. Pull the radio rearward while, at the same time, twisting it slightly to the left, and disconnect the electrical connectors and antenna lead. Remove the lamp socket.
  14.  
  15. Remove the radio. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  16.

  1. Disconnect the negative cable at the battery.
  2.  
  3. Remove the instrument panel molding.
  4.  
  5. Remove the ash tray.
  6.  
  7. Remove the four screws attaching the ash tray retaining assembly to the instrument panel.
  8.  
  9. Remove the ash tray lamp bulb and socket assembly from the housing.
  10.  
  11. Pull the radio and ash tray retaining assembly out far enough to disconnect the radio wiring and antenna lead.
  12.  
  13. Remove the radio. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  14.  

1981-85 Vehicles
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the radio knobs by pulling them off.
  4.  
  5. Remove the retaining nuts and washers, then remove the radio face plate.
  6.  
  7. Remove the remaining control nuts and washers.
  8.  
  9. Unfasten the trim panel attaching screws, then remove the trim panel from the instrument cluster.
  10.  
  11. Remove the radio mounting plate bolts, then remove the mounting plate.
  12.  
  13. Pull the radio out enough to disconnect the speaker wires and antenna lead, then remove the radio from the vehicle.
  14.  
  15. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.

Phoenix

  1. Disconnect the negative cable at the battery.
  2.  
  3. Remove the trim plate from the center of the instrument panel.
  4.  
  5. Remove the two attaching screws, and pull the radio out far enough to disconnect the wiring and antenna lead.
  6.  
  7. Remove the radio knobs and separate the face plate from the radio. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.

Skylark
  1. Disconnect the negative cable at the battery.
  2.  
  3. Remove the instrument panel trim plate.
  4.  
  5. Remove the four radio mounting plate screws.
  6.  
  7. Pull the radio out far enough to disconnect the wiring and antenna cable.
  8.  
  9. Pull the radio out through the instrument panel carrier housing.
  10.  
  11. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
