Fig. Fig. 1 The combination valve is usually mounted to the front frame member, below and near the master cylinder assembly

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.
  3. Disengage the electrical lead from the switch.
  4.
  5. Place rags under the unit to absorb any spilled brake fluid.
  6.
  7. Clean any dirt from the hydraulic lines and the switch/valve assembly. Disconnect the hydraulic lines from the assembly. If necessary, loosen the line connections at the master cylinder. Tape or plug the open line ends to prevent the entrance of dirt and help impede fluid leakage.

  9. Remove the mounting screws, then remove the switch/valve assembly.
  10.

  2.
  3. Place the new unit in position and secure it to the mounting bracket using the retaining screws.
  4.
  5. Remove the tape or plugs from the hydraulic lines and connect them to the unit. If loosened for necessary play, tighten the line connections at the master cylinder.

  7. Engage the electrical lead.
  8.
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.
  10.
