  1. Make sure that the wiper motor is in the park position.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Remove the wiper arm and blade. On the left hand arm assembly where applicable, remove the retaining clip from the pin on the drive arm.
  6.  
  7. If equipped, remove the plenum chamber air intake grille or screen.
  8.  
  9. Loosen the nuts retaining the drive rod ball stud to the crank arm, then detach the linkage.
  10.  
  11. Remove the transmission retaining screws. Lower the transmission and drive rod assemblies into the plenum chamber.
  12.  
  13. Remove the transmission and linkage from the plenum chamber through the cowl opening. To install:
  14.  
  15. Install the transmission and linkage to the plenum chamber through the cowl opening.
  16.  
  17. Raise the transmission and drive rod assemblies into position, then install the retaining screws.
  18.  
  19. Make sure the linkage and crank arm are both in the park position, then attach the linkage to the crank arm and tighten the retaining nuts.
  20.  
  21. If equipped, install the plenum chamber air intake grille or screen.
  22.  
  23. Install the wiper arm and blade assemblies to the transmission.
  24.  
  25. Connect the negative battery cable.
  26.  
  27. Test the motor to insure that it returns to the park position and that the washers work. Make sure that there is no interference on either side of the windshield and that the wiper arms do not bind.
