REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

Remove and install ONLY one lower control arm at a time. If both arms are removed at the same time, the axle could roll or slip sideways, making installation of the arms very difficult.

  1. Raise and support the rear of the vehicle on jackstands under the rear axle. Remove the stabilizer bar, if equipped.
  2.
  3. Remove the control arm attaching fasteners and the control arm.
  4.
  5. To install, reverse the removal procedures. Torque the control arm-to-frame nut to 70 ft. lbs. and the control arm-to-axle bolt to 79 ft. lbs. If equipped with a stabilizer bar, torque the mounting fasteners to 35 ft. lbs.
  6.

Before torquing the fasteners, the weight of the vehicle must be resting on its wheels.
