All models are equipped with a fuel filter located in the carburetor fuel inlet and/or an inline fuel filter positioned in the fuel line between the fuel pump and the carburetor. Either type of filter should be changed at 12 month or 12,000 mile intervals on cars built until 1974, and 12 month or 15,000 miles intervals on 1975 and later cars. To service the inlet type filter, disconnect the fuel line at the carburetor, unscrew the filter retainer, and withdraw the filter element from the carburetor. Install a new filter and refit the retainer and fuel line to the carburetor. For the inline type fuel filter, follow the instructions which are included with the replacement filter to remove the old filter and install the new unit.
