Chevrolet Nova/ChevyII 1962-1979

Towing the Vehicle

Chevy II and Nova models may be towed safely on all four wheels with the transmission in Neutral at maximum speed of 35 mph for distances under 50 miles, providing that the axle, driveline, and transmission are operating properly.

Disconnect and secure the driveshaft or raise the rear wheels if tow speeds in excess of 35 mph are necessary, vehicle must be towed over 50 miles, or the transmission or driveline is damaged.

When towing a vehicle on its front wheels, the steering wheel must be secured in the straight-ahead position. On 1969 and later models, DO NOT rely on the steering column lock to accomplish this as it was not designed for that purpose.
