Fluid Reservoir

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



  1. Remove the master cylinder from the vehicle. Clean the outside of the reservoir and cylinder.
  2.  
  3. Remove the reservoir caps and empty the brake fluid. Do not reuse the old fluid.
  4.  
  5. Position the master cylinder in a vise. Pad the vise jaws and do not over tighten.
  6.  
  7. Rock the reservoir from side to side to loosen and lift up to remove from the master cylinder. Do not pry the reservoir with any tools. Damage to the reservoir will result.
  8.  
  9. Remove the old housing to reservoir mounting grommets. Clean the cylinder and reservoir grommet mounting surfaces.
  10.  

To install:
  1. Install new mounting grommets in the master cylinder housing.
  2.  
  3. Lubricate the mounting surfaces of the grommets with brake fluid.
  4.  
  5. Place the reservoir in position over the grommets and seat it into the grommets using a rocking motion.
  6.  
  7. Be sure that the reservoir is fully seated on the master cylinder and the bottom of the reservoir touches the top of the grommets.
  8.  
  9. Fill the reservoir with fresh brake fluid and bench bleed the master cylinder.
  10.
