All models have an Emission Maintenance Reminder (EMR) lamp, this lamp is illuminated when the ignition key is turned ON . The lamp is connected with the engine controller, which records the vehicle mileage and stores it into memory every 8 miles (13 km). At the time the mileage is stored, the controller checks for the 60,000 (96,000 km), 82,500 (132,000 km) and 120,000 mile (192,000 km) trip points. When the current mileage matches one of these mileages, the EMR lamp is illuminated.
When the EMR lamp is illuminated, some of the emission components are supposed to be changed. These components are: EGR valve, EGR tube and PCV valve at 60,000 miles (96,000 km) and 120,000 miles (192,000 km). At 82,500 miles (132,000 km) the oxygen sensor must also be replaced. The EMR lamp can then be reset using an appropriate DRB tester or equivalent.
