REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
2.2L and 2.5L Engines

When the rear crankshaft seal retainer is required, provide retainer-to-block sealing during re-installation. Use form-in-place, anaerobic (cures in the absence of air) type gasket material applied as shown.
- Remove the timing belt covers, belt, crankshaft sprocket and seal as outlined earlier in this section.
- Remove the shield and retainer screws.
- Apply a form-in-place, anaerobic (cures in the absence of air) type gasket material to the retainer.
- Assemble the shield and retainer and tighten the screws to 105 inch lbs. (12 Nm).
