Used fluids, such as engine oil, antifreeze, transaxle oils and brake fluid are hazardous as waste material and must be disposed of properly.
Before draining any fluids, consult with your local municipal government. In may areas, waste oils are being accepted as part of the recycling program. A number of service stations, repair facilities and auto parts stores are accepting these waste fluids for recycling.
Be sure of the recycling center's policies before draining any fluids, as many will not accept different fluids that have been mixed together, such as oil and antifreeze.
