REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



1984-87 Models
  1. Remove the heater/evaporator unit from the vehicle.
  2.  
  3. Remove the 4 screws retaining the recirculation cover to the unit and remove the cover and recirculating door.
  4.  
  5. Remove the blower assembly, sound helmet, motor and wheel.
  6.  
  7. To remove the blower wheel, remove the retaining clamp from the blower wheel hub and slide the blower wheel from the shaft.
  8.  
  9. Remove the 3 screws in the helmet and remove the blower motor and wires.
  10.  

To install:
  1. Install the blower wheel to the shaft and install the spring clip. Inspect the blower mounting plate seal and repair, as necessary. Apply rubber adhesive to the seal to aid in assembly.
  2.  
  3. Install the blower into the helmet and install the 3 mounting screws.
  4.  
  5. The entire blower assembly and helmet can be installed into the fan scroll with the 5 screws.
  6.  
  7. Install the recirculating door and cover.
  8.  

1988-91 Models
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Locate and disengage the 2-way connector at the blower motor lead under the instrument panel on the passenger side of the vehicle. The wire connector insulator may be wrapped with a foam silencer material.
  4.  
  5. Remove the 5 blower motor screws attaching the the motor to the A/C-heater unit.
  6.  
  7. Allow the blower assembly to drop downward to clear the instrument panel.
  8.  
  9. Install in reverse of removal.
  10.  

1992-95 Models
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the lower right instrument panel assembly.
  4.  
  5. Remove the blower motor screws attaching the the motor to the A/C-heater unit.
  6.  
  7. Allow the blower assembly to drop downward to clear the instrument panel.
  8.  
  9. Install in reverse of removal.
  10.
