REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



Cirrus, Stratus, Sebring Convertible and Breeze

See Figures 1 and 2

  1. Place the ignition key in the OFF position.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Using a suitable trim panel removal tool, carefully pry out and remove the radio/HVAC control module bezel.
  6.  
  7. Remove the cluster hood bezel retaining screws in the trim bezel opening.
  8.

  1. Pry up the cluster hood bezel a few inches to expose the cubby bin/cigar lighter bezel and wiring.
  2.  
  3. Unfasten the mounting screws from around the control module.
  4.  
  5. Lower the control module into the cigar lighter/cubby bin bezel opening and disengage the wiring harness from behind the control module.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the control cables from behind the control module.
  8.  
  9. Remove the control module assembly.
  10.  

To install:
  1. Connect the control cables and wiring harnesses to the back of the control module assembly. Make sure the cables are securely retained by the clips.
  2.  
  3. Install the control module assembly.
  4.  
  5. Install and tighten the control module mounting screws.
  6.  
  7. Install and tighten the cluster hood bezel retaining screws.
  8.  
  9. Install the trim bezel.
  10.  
  11. Connect the negative battery cable.
  12.  

Sebring Coupe and Avenger

See Figure 3

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  


CAUTION
The models covered by this guide are equipped with a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), which uses air bags. Whenever working near any of the SRS components, such as the impact sensors, air bag modules, steering column and instrument panel, disable the SRS, as described earlier in this section.

  1. Using a suitable trim panel removal tool, carefully pry out and remove the radio/HVAC control module bezel.
  2.  
  3. Remove the floor console.
  4.  
  5. Remove the radio.
  6.  
  7. Remove the glove box stoppers.
  8.  
  9. Remove the control module retaining screws and pull the module out of the instrument panel.
  10.  
  11. Disengage the control cables and wiring harness from behind the module.
  12.

To install:
  1. Connect the control cables and wiring harnesses to the back of the control module assembly. Make sure the cables are securely retained by the clips.
  2.  
  3. Install the control module assembly and tighten the mounting screws.
  4.  
  5. Install the glove box stoppers.
  6.  
  7. Install the radio.
  8.  
  9. Install the floor console.
  10.  
  11. Install the trim bezel.
  12.  
  13. Connect the negative battery cable.
  14.
