Windshield Washer Pump

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



Cirrus, Stratus, Sebring Convertible and Breeze

See Figures 1 and 2

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  4.  
  5. Remove the front right inner fender splash shield.
  6.  
  7. Partially remove the bumper fascia, as necessary, to gain access to the washer pump by first removing the plastic push-in fasteners.

  1. Detach the electrical connector from the reservoir pump.
  2.  
  3. Place a suitable drain pan under the reservoir, then disconnect the washer hose from the pump and allow the reservoir to drain into the pan.
  4.  
  5. Carefully pry the pump away from the reservoir and out of the retaining grommet. Be careful not to puncture the reservoir when removing the pump.
  6.  
  7. Remove and discard the rubber grommet.
  8.  

To install:
  1. Place a new rubber grommet in the reservoir.
  2.  
  3. Place the pump into position, then push it onto the grommet until it is fully seated.
  4.  
  5. Attach the pump's electrical connector.
  6.  
  7. Position the bumper fascia back into its correct position and secure with the plastic push-in fasteners.
  8.  
  9. Install the inner fender splash shield.
  10.  
  11. Carefully lower the vehicle.
  12.  
  13. Fill the windshield washer reservoir with the proper type and amount of fluid.
  14.  
  15. Connect the negative battery cable, then check the system for proper operation.
  16.  

Sebring Coupe and Avenger

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the brake fluid reservoir mounting bolt.
  4.  
  5. Loosen the mounting fasteners and remove the washer fluid reservoir.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the rubber washer fluid hose from the washer pump motor.
  8.  
  9. Detach the electrical connector from the washer pump.
  10.  
  11. Carefully remove the washer pump from the reservoir.
  12.  

To install:
  1. Install the washer pump onto the reservoir.
  2.  
  3. Attach the electrical connector to the washer pump.
  4.  
  5. Connect the washer fluid hose to the washer pump motor.
  6.  
  7. Place the washer fluid reservoir in correct position and tighten the mounting fasteners.
  8.  
  9. Install and tighten the brake fluid reservoir mounting bolt.
  10.  
  11. Fill the windshield washer reservoir with the proper type and amount of fluid.
  12.  
  13. Connect the negative battery cable, then check the system for proper operation.
  14.
