Motor Relay

TESTING



  1. Disconnect the seat belt motor relay connector.
  2.  
  3. Remove the seat belt motor relay.
  4.  
  5. Check for continuity between terminals 1, 3 and 5 of the relay.
  6.  
  7. Check for continuity between terminals 4, 6 7 and 8 of the relay.
  8.  
  9. Applying 12 volts to terminal 6 and momentarily grounding terminal 4. Continuity should be indicated between terminals 1 and 2.
  10.  
  11. Applying 12 volts to terminal 7 and momentarily grounding terminal 8. Continuity should be indicated between terminals 2 and 3.
  12.  
  13. If the result is not OK, replace the motor relay.
  14.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.

  1. Remove the rear console box assembly.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the motor relay wiring connector.
  4.  
  5. Remove the relay retaining screw and remove the relay.
  6.

  1. Fit the relay into position and install the retaining screw.
  2.  
  3. Reconnect the relay wiring connector.
  4.  
  5. Install the rear console box assembly.
  6.  
  7. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
  8.
