A hypoid gear oil with an API classification of GL-4 or higher is required.

LEVEL CHECK



A dipstick is provided for transfer case fluid level checks. Be sure the vehicle is parked on level ground. Remove the dipstick and wipe it clean. Insert the dipstick and remove it from the tube. If the level is between the upper and lower marks it is correct. Add fluid through the dipstick tube as required.

DRAIN AND REFILL



  1. Place a suitable drain pan under the transfer case.
  2.  
  3. Remove the drain plug from the bottom of the transfer case.
  4.  
  5. Drain the gear oil. Wipe the drain plug threads clean. Screw the plug into position and tighten it.
  6.  
  7. Fill the transfer case to the proper level on the dipstick (upper Mark) through the dipstick tube.
