REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

Colt
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.
  3. Properly discharge the air conditioning system.
  4.
  5. Remove the battery, battery tray and windshield washer reservoir.
  6.
  7. Remove the upper radiator mounts to allow the radiator to be moved toward the engine. Remove the fans if they do not allow enough radiator movement.
  8.
  9. Disconnect the refrigerant lines from the condenser. Cover the exposed ends of the lines to minimize contamination.
  10.
  11. Remove the condenser mounting bolts.
  12.
  13. Move the radiator toward the engine and lift the condenser from the vehicle. Inspect the lower rubber mounting insulators and replace, if necessary.
  14.

To install:
  1. Lower the condenser into position and align the dowels with the lower mounting insulators. Install the bolts.
  2.
  3. Replace the O-rings, lubricate and connect the refrigerant lines.
  4.
  5. Install the radiator mounts and cooling fans.
  6.
  7. Install remaining parts that were removed during the removal procedure.
  8.
  9. Evacuate and recharge the air conditioning system. If the condenser was replaced, add 2 oz. of refrigerant oil during the recharge.
  10.
  11. Connect the negative battery cable and check the entire climate control system for proper operation. Check the system for leaks.
  12.

Vista
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.
  3. Properly discharge the air conditioning system.

  6.
  7. Unplug the fan connector. Most of these connectors employ a waterproof connector. When disconnecting, make sure all parts of the connectors remain intact.
  8.
  9. Remove the mounting screws and remove the cooling fan assembly.
  10.
  11. Disconnect the refrigerant lines from the condenser. Cover the exposed ends of the lines to minimize contamination.
  12.

  6.
  7. Install the cooling fan and secure with mounting screws.
  8.
  9. Connect the fan connector. Connect the negative battery cable and check the fan for proper operation before assembling the remaining parts. Disconnect the negative battery cable before continuing.
  10.
  11. Install the grille.
  12.
  13. Evacuate and recharge the air conditioning system. If the condenser was replaced, add 2 oz. of refrigerant oil during the recharge.
