REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



Instrument Panel Mounted

  1. Remove the instrument panel top cover by carefully prying up each end of the top cover to disengage the clips.
    1. Lift the rear edge of the top cover using a trim stick along the rear edge.
    2.  
    3. While lifting the rear edge, slide the top cover rearward to disengage the front clips, then remove the top cover.

  3. To remove the right or left speakers, remove the two retaining screws for the speakers. Lift up the speaker and disconnect the wiring attached to the speaker.
  4.  
  5. To remove the center speaker, remove the plastic retainer and disconnect the wire. Remove the speaker.
  6.  

To install:
  1. Attach the wiring to the speaker, then install the center speaker in the instrument panel with the plastic retainer.
  2.  
  3. If the left or right speakers were removed, attach the wiring, then place the speaker into position. Tighten down the speakers with the mounting screws.
  4.  
  5. Check the operation of the speakers.
  6.  
  7. Install the instrument panel top cover.
  8.  

Door Mounted

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Carefully pry the speaker grille away from the door panel.
  4.  
  5. Remove the speaker retaining screws.
  6.  
  7. Pull the speaker away from the door and unplug the electrical wires from the speaker.
  8.  

To install:

  1. Attach the electrical wires to the speaker.
  2.  
  3. Install the speaker to the door and secure in place with the retaining screws.
  4.  
  5. Install the speaker grille onto the door trim panel.
  6.  
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.
  8.  

Rear Trim Panel Mounted

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the parcel shelf panel. Refer to Body & Trim . On models with grilles, carefully pry up on the grille to remove.
  4.  
  5. Remove the speaker retaining screws.
  6.  
  7. Pull the speaker away from the body and unplug the electrical wires from the speaker.
  8.  

To install:
  1. Attach the electrical wires to the speaker.
  2.  
  3. Install the speaker to the mounting hole in the trim panel and secure in place with the retaining screws.
  4.  
  5. Set the speaker grille over the speaker so that the clips are aligned with the grille. Push the grille in until the retaining clips engage the grille.
  6.  
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.
  8.
