REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

To perform this procedure a cover that will protect both the windshield and the two fenders is required, as well as an assistant.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. If applicable, unplug all electrical connectors on the hood, then remove the wiring harness from the hood.
  4.  
  5. Matchmark the position of the all bolt and hinge attachment locations to provide reference marks for installation.
  6.  
  7. Remove the top bolts holding the hood to the hinge and loosen the bottom bolts until they can be removed by hand.
  8.  
  9. With the aid of an assistant to support the opposite side of the hood, remove the bottom bolts holding the hood to the hinge and remove the hood from the vehicle.
  10.  

To install:
  1. Position the hood and with the aid of an assistant to support the opposite side of the hood, install the bottom bolts holding the hood to the hinge finger-tight.
  2.  
  3. Install the top bolts holding the hood to the hinge finger-tight.
  4.  
  5. Position the bolts at the marks during removal and tighten the bolts securely. The hood should be aligned to 0.060 in. (4 mm) gap to the front fenders and flush across the top surfaces along the fenders.
  6.  
  7. Engage all electrical connectors on the hood.
  8.  
  9. Check hood operation and alignment.
  10.  

ALIGNMENT



  1. The hood should be aligned to 0.060 in. (4 mm) gap to the front fenders and flush across the top surfaces along the fenders.
  2.  
  3. If the hood requires adjustment, loosen the mounting bolts located on the underside of the hood (the hinge-to-hood attaching bolts). and adjust as necessary.
