  1. Remove the rear disc brake caliper from the adapter and rotor.
  2.  
  3. Remove the rotor from the hub assembly.
  4.  
  5. Remove the dust cap from the hub.
  6.  
  7. Remove the cotter pin, nut retainer, wave washer, hub/bearing retaining nut and washer from the rear spindle.
  8.  
  9. Remove the hub and bearing assembly.
  10.  
  11. With a pair of pliers, remove the shoe hold-down clip.
  12.  
  13. Turn the brake shoe adjuster wheel until the adjuster is at its shortest length.
  14.  
  15. Remove the adjuster assembly from the parking brake shoe.
  16.  
  17. Remove the lower shoe-to-shoe spring.
  18.  
  19. Pull the rear shoe assembly away from the anchor, then remove the rear shoe and upper spring.
  20.  
  21. Remove the front shoe hold-down clip, then the shoe assembly.
  22.  

To install:
  1. Install the front shoe and hold-down clip.
  2.  
  3. Install the rear shoe and upper brake shoe-to-shoe return spring.
  4.  
  5. Pull the rear shoe over the anchor block until it is properly located on the adapter.
  6.  
  7. Install the lower shoe to the return spring.
  8.  
  9. Install the adjuster with the star wheel facing rearwards.
  10.  
  11. Install the rear shoe hold-down clip.
  12.  
  13. Adjust the shoes to a diameter of 6.75 inch (171mm).
  14.  
  15. Install the rear hub and bearing assembly on the spindle.
  16.  
  17. Install the hub washer and retaining nut. Tighten the nut to 124 ft. lbs. (168 Nm).
  18.  
  19. Install the wave washer, retaining nut and new cotter pin.
  20.  
  21. Install the dust cap, rotor and caliper.
  22.  
  23. Install the wheels and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
  24.  
  25. Lower the vehicle and tighten the lug nuts in a star pattern sequence to 95 ft. lbs. (129 Nm).
  26.  
  27. Road test the vehicle to verify good brake performance.
  28.
