Chrysler Concorde/Intrepid/LHS/New Yorker/Vision 1993-1997

General Information

The starting system consists of an ignition switch, neutral safety switch, wiring harness, starter relay, battery, and a starter motor with an integral solenoid. These components form two separate circuits: a high amperage circuit that feeds the starter motor up to 300 or more amps, and a control circuit that operates on less than 20 amps.

The Delco starter is a permanent magnet starter motor and is available on the 3.5L engines. A planetary gear train transmits power between the starter motor and the pinion shaft. The fields have six permanent magnets.

The Nippondenso starter is a reduction gear starter and is available in the 3.3L engine.
