ADJUSTMENT

Except Premier and Monaco

The neutral safety switch is the center terminal of the three terminal switch, located on the transaxle. The back-up light switch uses the two outside terminals. The center terminal provides a ground for the starter solenoid circuit through the selector lever in the P and N positions only.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
  2.
  3. Unscrew the switch from the transaxle, and allow the fluid to drain into a pan.
  4.
  5. Move the selector lever to see that the switch operating lever fingers are centered in the switch opening.
  6.
  7. Install the new switch and new seal. Tighten the switch assembly to 24 ft. lbs. (33 Nm). Check for proper operation.
  8.

Premier and Monaco

The neutral safety switch is not adjustable on these vehicles.
