Whenever replacing fuel lines, it is necessary to utilize fuel hoses marked EFI/EFM or an equivalent product from the aftermarket. Whenever replacing hose clamps, use clamps incorporating a rolled edge to prevent hose damage, rather than standard aviation type clamps. This will prevent damage to the hoses that could produce dangerous leaks.
Experience has shown that many complaints that may occur with EFI can be traced to poor wiring or hose connections. A visual and "wiggle'' check (grasp the wiring plugs and wiggle them to check for a loose connection) will help spot these most common faults and save unnecessary test and diagnosis time.
Before servicing any component of the Flex Fuel system make certain to read the warnings and cautions provided in Routine Maintenance . This is very important since the methanol fuel used in this system can cause severe physical injury.
