The marker lights are replaced with new ones by removing the lamp assembly from the bumper or quarter panel, twisting and pulling the socket out of the assembly, and then twisting the lamp to release it from the socket.

Where the lamp is located in an assembly separate from the headlamp, remove the screws from the lens and pull the assembly out of the bumper fascia.

Where the lamp is located in the side of the headlamp bezel, remove the two nuts from the rear of the turn signal/parking light assembly. These are located in the wall of the bezel, directly in front of the headlight and will also release the lens (catch it and remove it to a safe place to keep it from being damaged).

Remove the lamp by turning it to release it from the socket. Install the new lamp by inserting it into the socket so the prongs line up with the internal grooves, permitting it to be turned and locked easily. If the lamp cannot be fully inserted and turned readily, turn it 180° and try again. Insert the socket into the assembly and turn it tight to lock it, then install the lamp assembly. On separate designs, install the mounting screws. On integral designs, install the lens and then turn the nuts over the threaded studs on the back of the lens.

The side marker lights are located in a socket locked into the back of the lamp assembly. Reach in behind the bumper, grasp the socket, turn it to release, and pull it from the lamp. Some newer models may require the removal of the lens assembly from the fender before access to the light bulb socket can be gained.

Remove the lamp by turning it to release it from the socket. Install the new lamp by inserting it into the socket so the prongs line up with the internal grooves, permitting it to be turned and locked easily. If the lamp cannot be fully inserted and turned readily, turn it 180° and try again. Insert the socket into the lamp assembly and turn it tight to lock it.

For sedans, remove the luggage compartment rear trim cover, then loosen the quarter panel silencer and shift it out of the way. Grasp the appropriate socket and rotate it counterclockwise; then pull it out of the lamp. Rotate the bulb counterclockwise and remove it from the socket.

On wagons, depress the flexible bumper fascia and use a socket wrench and extension to remove the two lower attaching nuts for the lamp assembly. Open the hatch to gain access to the two upper nuts and use the same tool to remove them. Pull the lamp assembly off the mounting studs.

Grasp the appropriate socket and rotate it counterclockwise; then pull it out of the lamp. Rotate the bulb counterclockwise and remove it from the socket.
