REMOVAL & INSTALLATION



Instrument Panel Mounted

See Figure 1

This procedure applies to all vehicles covered by this information. Some slight differences may arise; adjust the procedure accordingly.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the speaker cover grilles by prying upward at the rear corners of the grille with a blunt edge plastic or wooden tool.
  4.  
  5. As the rearward edge of the speaker grille comes free of the pad, insert your fingers under the exposed grille surface and push up to disengage two posts at the forward corners of the grille.
  6.  
  7. Remove the speaker mounting screws.
  8.  
  9. Lift the speaker up and out of its mounting hole. Unplug and label the electrical wiring connectors to the speaker.
  10.  
  11. Remove the speaker.

To install:
  1. Attach the electrical wiring connectors to the underside of the speaker.
  2.  
  3. Set the speaker into its mounting hole and secure with the mounting screws.
  4.  
  5. Set the speaker grille over the speaker with the four retaining posts in their receptacle holes.
  6.  
  7. Push the speaker cover grille down until it snaps in place.
  8.  
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.
  10.  

Door Mounted

See Figure 2

This procedure applies to all vehicles covered by this information. Some slight differences may arise; adjust the procedure accordingly.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Body & Trim for this procedure.
  4.  
  5. Remove the speaker retaining screws.
  6.  
  7. Pull the speaker away from the door and unplug the electrical wires from the speaker.
  8.

To install:
  1. Attach the electrical wires to the speaker.
  2.  
  3. Install the speaker to the door and secure in place with the retaining screws.
  4.  
  5. Install the door trim panel to the door. Refer to Body & Trim .
  6.  
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.
  8.  

Rear Trim Panel Mounted

See Figure 3

This procedure applies to all vehicles covered by this information. Some slight differences may arise: adjust the procedure accordingly.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Pull the speaker grille away from the quarter trim panel to disengage the retaining clips.
  4.  
  5. Remove the speaker retaining screws.
  6.  
  7. Pull the speaker away from the body and unplug the electrical wires from the speaker.
  8.

To install:
  1. Attach the electrical wires to the speaker.
  2.  
  3. Install the speaker to the mounting hole in the trim panel and secure in place with the retaining screws.
  4.  
  5. Set the speaker grille over the speaker so that the clips are aligned with the grille. Push the grille in until the retaining clips engage the grille.
  6.  
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.
  8.
