Chrysler Front Wheel Drive Cars 6-CYL 1988-1995 Repair Information

See Figure 1

All Chrysler front wheel drive cars use a MacPherson Type front suspension, with vertical shock absorbers attached to the upper fender reinforcement and the steering knuckle. Lower control arms, attached inboard to a crossmember and outboard to the steering knuckle through a ball joint, provide lower steering knuckle position. During steering maneuvers, the upper strut (through a pivot bearing in the upper retainer assembly) and steering knuckle turn as an assembly.
