REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
Except Premier and Monaco

- Raise the vehicle and safely support it with jackstands.
- Remove the nuts, bolts, and retainers at the ends of the sway bar-where it meets the control arms.
- Remove the bolts from the mounting clamps attached to the crossmember and remove the sway bar from the vehicle.
Lubricate the sway bar rubber bushings liberally with suitable grease before assembling.
- Put the busings that attach the sway bar to the crossmember into position on the sway bar with the slit facing forward.
- Raise the sway bar into position and install the mounting clamps and their bolts.
- Position the outboard retainers at the control arms, and install the bolts and nuts.
- Lower the vehicle to the ground and make sure it is at design height by loading it normally. Then, tighten all retaining bolts evenly to 50 ft. lbs. (70 Nm).
Premier and Monaco

For ease of stabilizer bar (sway bar) removal and installation, do not raise the vehicle. Leave the vehicle's weight resting on the tires. Failure to do this may allow the ball joint assemblies to separate from the lower control arms.
- Remove the bolts that hold the stabilizer bar inner brackets to the engine cradle.
- Remove the retaining nuts from the stabilizer bar outer bracket bolts at the suspension arms. Note that the outer bracket nuts and bolts also fasten the ball joint to the suspension arm. Remove the stabilizer bar and brackets from the vehicle. Reinstall a nut on each side of the vehicle to keep the ball joint assembly from separating from the arm.
- Inspect the stabilizer bushings for cracks and other damage, replace with new ones if necessary.
- Tighten the stabilizer bar nuts or bolts only finger-tight until all the fasteners are in place. Then tighten the stabilizer outer bracket nuts to 60 ft. lbs. (81 Nm) and the stabilizer bar inner bracket nuts to 21 ft. lbs. (29 Nm).
