REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

  1. Drain the cooling system.
  2.  


CAUTION
When draining the coolant, keep in mind that cats and dogs are attracted to ethylene glycol antifreeze, and are quite likely to drink any that is left in an uncovered container or in puddles on the ground. This will prove fatal in sufficient quantity. Always drain the coolant into a sealable container. Coolant should be reused unless it is contaminated or several years old.

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
  2.  
  3. Detach the upper hose from the radiator.
  4.  
  5. Remove the shroud mounting nuts and position it out of the way.
  6.

  1. Remove the radiator top mounting screws. If equipped with air conditioning, remove the condenser attaching screws, accessible through the grille. DO NOT disconnect any air conditioning lines.

  1. Raise the vehicle and support it. Disconnect and plug the automatic transmission cooler lines and cap the openings in the cooler.
  2.  
  3. Hold the radiator in place and remove the lower mounting screws. Carefully lift it up and out of the truck.
  4.  

To install:
  1. Hold the radiator in place and install the lower mounting screws.
  2.

  1. Connect the automatic transmission cooler lines.
  2.  
  3. Install the radiator top mounting screws. If equipped with air conditioning, install the condenser attaching screws, accessible through the grille.
  4.  
  5. Install the shroud mounting nuts.
  6.  
  7. Connect the upper hose from the radiator.
  8.

  1. Connect the battery ground cable.
  2.  
  3. Fill the cooling system.
  4.  
  5. Check all fluid levels and run the engine, making sure there are no leaks.
